Students explore thematic curricula through inter- and multidisciplinary approaches. Through the arts as well as their classroom subjects, students develop expertise in multiple fields, united by a specific topic. Teachers collaborate to create in-depth units of study that address standards, goals, understandings, and student needs in multiple subjects at once, allowing students to learn, grow, and succeed in those subjects in many different ways. Students develop a sense of the interconnectedness among areas of study and are able to apply transferable skills from the arts to their classrooms and vise-versa. They are empowered to be artist-scientists, musician-mathematicians, and more.
